What's new in SimaPro version 10.4 ?
The latest release of SimaPro Craft (previous SimaPro desktop) focuses on improved speed and performance, enhanced user experience and handy new features.

Faster calculations, import and export

System Requirements

OS:
SimaPro is a 32 bits Windows application which also runs on 64
bits Windows. We highly recommend to have the latest service
pack installed. Earlier operating systems are not supported.

Single and multi-user client
Internal memory: 4 GB (32 bits), 8 GB (64 bit).
Screen resolution: minimum resolution is 1280 x 1024. We recommend a higher resolution and a wide-screen monitor.
Processor: a multi-core processor in combination with a 64 bit
operating system is recommended.
Hard disk: 10 GB free (local) hard disk space for temporary files. Only in the case of single user: an additional 20 GB free disk
space for database(s).

SimaPro Database Server (only for multi-user)
Internal memory: a minimum of 4 GB (32 bit) or 8 GB (64 bit).
Hard disk: at least 20 GB space is needed for installed databases.
 

If you are using an Apple or Unix computer you can run SimaPro
through a Windows emulator or via a parallel platform.  We regret we cannot give technical support for these systems.
 

SimaPro 10.5 Life Cycle Assessment Software

SimaPro 10.4 Version Updates
SimaPro 10.4 was released on March 31, 2026, with support for the latest ecoinvent 3.12 database. Approximately 1,300 new datasets were added, covering areas such as energy, chemicals, construction, transportation, and waste, while the BAFU:2025 and IMOA databases were also updated.
The new version introduces an IPCC 2021 method compliant with ISO 14067, allowing aviation emission factors to be calculated independently and strengthening product carbon footprint analysis. It also introduces an integrated login mechanism, improves uncertainty calculation logic, and optimizes cumulative result display and CSV export functions to enhance analytical stability and usability.

SimaPro 10.4 Version Updates
SimaPro 10.3 was released on October 30, 2025, bringing a series of performance and user experience improvements. It also introduced a major update to the ecoinvent 3.11 database, adding approximately 2,000 datasets, updating around 4,500 datasets, and expanding geographical coverage. Updated industries include fuels, energy, chemicals and plastics, batteries, buildings and construction, waste, agriculture, forestry and wood, pulp and paper, metals, and transportation.

Other Feature Updates:
- Further performance improvements, especially when opening databases and projects, loading methods, and comparing multiple processes.
- A convenient new feature allows users to select the default method directly in the calculation settings without returning to the “Methods” page in LCA Explorer.
- Improved keyboard operations for easier navigation.
- Optimized default settings for CSV import to provide a smoother import process.

(2) Export: Supports image export (bar charts and network diagrams) and table export (calculation results and process CSV files)
- Improved chart layouts for better visualization.

Version 10.3 mainly improves speed and performance, enhances the user experience, introduces convenient new features, updates the U.S. Life Cycle Inventory (USLCI) and U.S. Environmentally-Extended Input-Output (USEEIO) databases, and adds new impact assessment methods including Environmental prices 2023, MarILCA, and TRACI 2.2.

SimaPro 10.3 updates its programming language to the latest version of Delphi, optimizing software performance as follows:
- Calculations now run 3 times faster
- Data imports now take only half the previous time
- Faster loading of processes and parameters
